About Koqudi
Our Story
Koqudi began in 2015 when three film production specialists in London recognised a gap in the market. They noticed that independent filmmakers, corporate clients, and content creators struggled to access reliable video equipment without committing to expensive purchases. What started as a small warehouse in East London with twelve cameras and basic lighting kits has grown into a comprehensive rental service.
We built our inventory based on direct feedback from clients. Rather than stocking every available model, we focused on equipment that delivers consistent results across different production scenarios. Our first year saw 47 rentals; last year we completed over 2,800 bookings for clients ranging from YouTube creators to BBC production teams.
What Drives Us
Our purpose is straightforward: make video production accessible. We maintain equipment to broadcast standards, test every item before it leaves our facility, and provide technical support when clients need guidance. This isn't about selling a service; it's about enabling creators to produce content without technical barriers.
We see ourselves as partners in production rather than just suppliers. When a documentary team needs specific lenses for a shoot in the Scottish Highlands, or a corporate client requires multi-camera setups for a conference in Manchester, we provide equipment that works reliably under those conditions.
How We Operate
Every piece of equipment undergoes inspection after each rental. We use a checklist developed over nine years that covers sensor cleanliness, lens calibration, battery health, and firmware updates. Our team includes two full-time technicians who previously worked in camera repair and broadcast maintenance.
We stock equipment from manufacturers including Sony, Canon, ARRI, and Blackmagic Design. Our lighting inventory covers LED panels, tungsten fixtures, and HMI units. Audio equipment includes wireless systems from Sennheiser and Rode, plus field recorders and boom microphones. Support gear ranges from fluid head tripods to motorised sliders and gimbals.
Our Principles
Equipment Reliability
We maintain gear to manufacturer specifications and replace items that show wear before they affect performance. Each camera body is retired after 50,000 shutter actuations or three years, whichever comes first.
Transparent Pricing
Our rates are published online with no hidden fees. Daily rates start from £45 for entry-level cameras, £120 for cinema cameras, and £25 for lighting units. Multi-day bookings receive discounts automatically.
Technical Support
All rentals include phone support during business hours. We provide equipment manuals, quick-start guides, and can arrange brief training sessions for unfamiliar gear at our Richmond Road location.
Flexible Booking
Reservations can be made online or by phone. We offer same-day collection when equipment is available and can arrange delivery across Greater London for orders over £200.
